screaming loud enough to turn back the wind

So i'm mostly out of the Marvel fandom for reasons i'll go into if asked, but i didnt see Age of Ultron and since about halfway through last year i stopped wanting to see Civil War, too. But people i follow on tumblr keep posting/reblogging stuff, and that's fine, i just skip it.

And then i decided to read a reaction/recap post and they just offhandedly referenced something that is one of the reasons i left the fandom, and when i asked someone for clarification, their explanation is even worse.

I am not seeing Civil War. God, i'm just so angry. I love certain characters so much, and that hasn't changed. But i am no longer mentally in a place where i can deal with the reality of their canon.

Defending my thesis at 2pm. Scared shitless. Wish me luck!

Another note: I wrote 56000 words in three months and then decided nobody but me cared about it so I stopped writing because it stopped being fun. But I WANT to finish this fic for myself, if nobody else. I have the entire damn thing plotted out, after all, and that's only happened once before, on a story half this length. And I still have half the plot go, so no telling how long it's going to be.

Still another note: what I have of this is the longest thing I've ever written, including my thesis. I'm doing research (since I was just making shit up for a medieval, magical realism society) and I changed the title from what it originally was, and I'm going to reread all 56000+ words in the near future because I do dearly love this 'verse. And also, once it's finished, all I have to change are the names and it'll be an original novel, so.
