it makes sense

This morning, while listening to a song, I realized why people use 'loose' when they meant 'lose.'

'Loose' looks like it should rhyme with 'choose.' Alas, it does not. 'Lose' does. Because English is weird.

You know what else is odd? ‘Goose,’ ‘moose,’ and ‘loose’ all rhyme. ‘Choose’ and ‘lose’ don’t rhyme with any of those. And then there’s ‘chose,’ which I’ve seen when people meant ‘choose.’ And ‘chose’ doesn’t rhyme with any of the other words in this post. (Okay, it does, but not any of the words in quotation marks.)

So, yeah. ‘Loose’ vs ‘lose’ has been bugging me for a while, and I’m just glad to finally get the mistake.

musings on fics

Okay, so first of all, it’s probably a bit bad how hilarious I found it when someone used fastened while meaning sped up or quickened. Like, I found it really funny.

Also, I’m getting tired of seeing authors use reign instead of rein.

There is a DIFFERENCE between the words CONSCIENCE and CONSCIOUS.  A very BIG DIFFERENCE.

bitchiness

Your does not equal you're.

Your is possessive.   For example: Your hair is sun-kissed.

You're is a contraction(you are).  For example: You're an idiot, so go away.

_______

I'm in a bad mood, and I think my lovely lilsis got me sick.  *droops*

______

Also, Impala does not equal Implanta.  My god.

"Born Under A Bad Sign"

THURSDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, for anyone who's interested, Eric Close doesn't appear on discs 2 or4 of "Taken", either. *is still drooping*

And, by the way, your and you're are TOTALLY different.  It really really annoys me when people get 'em confused.

PMS bitchiness

The hell is 'instict'?  Dude, once is a mistake.  Twice is carelessness.

And the character's name is Carolyn.  Not Caroline.  They sound completely different.

I can't even get past the summary and there's seventeen reviews praising this?

There's not even a TITLE.  And the dialogue is punctuated incorrectly.

I'm in a pissy mood.  Sue me.

fic.

Summary: Riddick feels Fry slipping from his hand at the grasp of the evil alien, not knowing what to do he acts on instict and saves her, but was is instic or was it love?

And the aliens aren't evil!  That's like damning a lioness 'cause she ate an antelope.  Or a human for eating a cow.

And the summary is a comma-splice.

Im Back! As u'll have noticed im changing the name to just 'daylight' cuz it'd be weird with the nu PB 2 movie coming out an all :O) ..... Riddick/Carolyn

And this?  Is NOT a summary.  I have NO desire to read this story.  I want to leave a scathing comment.

There does not equal their which does not equal they're.

Learn this, authors, or I will not read your stories.

grammar is my passion

My god, how hard is it to spell the word SUMMARY!? Or even GLANCE at the summary of your beloved story before you post it for all the world to see?

Also, when someone points out a GLARING ERROR in your summary politely in a private message, is it too much trouble to FIX IT?!

I am way too tired to be up and looking for stories...

*is weird*

Oh, dear god, I think I just got hit with a plotwolf for a "Gilmore Girls"/"Smallville" crossover.

And my darling little sister has told me she'll disown me if I write a Dean/Emily "Gilmore Girls" fic.

Clearly, I have too much time on my hands.

Right?

Also, the word 'I' should be capitalized.  This is not optional.  Unless you're e.e. cummings, which no one is but him.

The word 'inciteful' does not exist.  And 'incite' means to provoke.

'Insightful,' however, does exist.  It means intuitive.

How hard is it to learn the difference?

I am too picky.  My expectations are too high.   I need to get over myself.

Bad punctuation, grammar, and spelling make my eyes bleed, just so you know.  And cry.  And scream.

I think I'll be an editor when I'm all growed up.  (That was intentional, by the way.  It's okay to make mistakes if it's intentional.)

Double standards?  What?

I really think my little obsession with correct spelling, word usage, and grammar will drive me to kill.  How hard can it be to realize 'fried' and 'friend' are not the same things?  Or that once you have a complete thought, you end the bloody sentence instead of rambling on?

My god.

But, on the plus side: less than fifteen minutes!

There is a difference between 'defiantly' and 'definitely.'  A HUGE difference.

Also, 'I' should be capitalized.  'Cannot' is one word.  Punctuation isn't optional.

I cannot be the only person in the world who knows this.

I'm too picky, aren't I?
